What is MetaMask?
MetaMask is a free, non-custodial crypto wallet that runs as a browser extension or mobile app. It lets you hold keys, sign transactions, and use decentralized applications (dApps) without a company holding your funds.
Why you need a wallet for Unova
To connect to the Unova network, approve transactions, and interact with smart contracts, you use a wallet like MetaMask. Your wallet stores your credentials locally; Unova does not custody your keys.
What MetaMask does
- Creates and protects your account using a secret recovery phrase (seed phrase).
- Connects websites and dApps to your account when you approve a connection.
- Lets you review and sign transactions before they are broadcast to the network.
- Supports custom networks so you can add Unova when RPC details are available.
Getting started
- Install MetaMask from the official MetaMask website (avoid third-party downloads).
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one using your recovery phrase.
- Store your recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone.
- When Unova network settings are published, add the network in MetaMask using the official RPC, chain ID, and symbol from Unova documentation.
Security reminder
Unova will never ask for your seed phrase or private keys. Only enter custom network details from official Unova channels.
